Faciliation of the design and painting of the ramps of the old skate park over a weekend residency.
The project began with a design and consultation workshop with young people at the Shire building, where ideas for artwork themes were explored.
An overall approach inspired by the landscape and community of Dowerin was formed. Next day, base colours were applied to the different areas of the park with everyone helping out.
Patterns, imagery, letterforms and details were added and the murals were completed by the end of the weekend. A few of the participants even got to spraypaint a small shelter with artwork. Some tidying up and finishing off was done Monday morning before heading back home.
