Design concepts were developed through a range of engagement processes with the student residents. A bright and bold garden theme was chosen for the courtyard. Dynamic coastal and sporting imagery was used to create an unfolding narrative along both internal stairwells. Large scale, strong colour, bold shapes and a sense of fun and freedom brings the different areas to life. The suite of murals are intended to lift the spirits of the residents as they linger or pass through each day.
A challenging but transformative project due to time contraints and the nature of the site, this fantastic outcome was acheived with assistance from Albany artist and long time collabrator Chad Marwick.
